About Us
The Trust was created in July 1953 by the then Bishops of Chester and Stockport. Regrettably little record is available of the activities of the Trust those fifty years ago, and it was only in 1992 that it was revived. The first meeting was held in the Bishop’s House in Chester on Friday 24 July and those attending were:
- The Right Reverend Michael Baughen — Bishop of Chester
- Lord Wade of Chorlton
- The Venerable Michael Gear — Archdeacon of Chester
- Canon C A Barton
- Gilbert H Parry OBE
Following this meeting Lord Wade of Chorlton became Chairman of the Trustees and further Trustees have been elected.
