How We Work
To carry out its obligations, HCCPT resources funding in 2 ways:
1. Restricted Fund
HCCPT acts as a channel through which Landfill Tax Credits are distributed via WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd). However, to qualify, one of the requirements is that the church must be located within a 10-mile radius of the 4 Cheshire landfill sites operated by WREN. This valued relationship goes back to 2001, since when the Trust has allocated over £800,000 of grants to over 130 churches.
2. Unrestricted Fund
To accommodate churches that are unable to meet the above criteria, HCCPT raises money from other sources:
- The Annual Ride & Stride
- Legacies and Donations
- Friends Subscriptions
- Gift Aid Tax rebates
To date over £200,000 has been raised enabling over 100 churches and chapels to benefit.
Why the Trust needs your help
